Introduction to mixed methods in family planning research and scholarship
was recorded in 2019 to serve as an educational resource for the Complex Family Planning and Ryan Residency Training Program communities.
Target audience
This webinar was originally developed for Complex Family Planning fellows, Ryan Residency Training Program faculty, and Ob-Gyn residents.
Learning objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
Compare the relative strengths and weaknesses of qualitative and quantitative research.
Define "mixed methods" research (and what it is not).
Describe the key components of a rigorous mixed methods study.
Illustrate the three basic mixed methods study designs: (explanatory-sequential, exploratory-sequential, convergent).
Describe at least three ways in which mixed methods can be used to improve health research.
