In this 60-minute session, recorded on July 20, 2023, Miriam Yeung, MPA, provides audience members with an overview of power’s role within social change and introduces a power-mapping tool so that participants can begin charting out their own change efforts. This session will be transferable to members across varying sectors looking to create micro- and macro-level change.

Miriam has served as a leader in the fields of women’s rights, Asian American advocacy, LGBT rights, reproductive health and justice, immigrant justice, economic justice, and racial justice for over 20 years, and has a particular adeptness at intersectional analysis and effectively connecting across movement and issue silos.

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
  1. Describe why power is necessary for social change.
  2. Apply the power map tool to begin charting out their own change efforts.
