This guide is created for clinicians who wish to implement a group processing model for their clinical team using either a peer or external clinical facilitator. It will provide a framework for addressing frequently encountered stressors in the clinical care environment in an accessible structure. It will also serve as a resource to solicit division, departmental, or organizational support to create space for well-being programming.
This toolkit was developed by Jordan Chavez in partnership with the Society. Jordan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Stanford Hospital. She works in direct patient care across all inpatient services and has been involved with physician wellness work for over 10 years. Jordan leads wellness programming for both residents and fellows in multiple departments, including Ob-Gyn, and has participated in both department and GME-level initiatives to address trainee and faculty wellness. She believes wholeheartedly that if we expect clinicians to take care of us, we need to take care of them.
